What happened to the Engine Performance Upgrade expected in June?

I ordered my 2011 with out the 7RR engine upgrade. I thought the performance upgrade for the engine was due in June. Anyone have any info on availability of the 50hp engine upgrade? Dealer has no clue.
thanks

That sucks. Dealer didn't have a clue when I ordered it on my 2010 either. I had to point it out to them. Luckily I was able to add it without problems after that. GL

Last I heard, all the performance related accessories will be released around september (this was told to me by someone that works at the SC plant).

BMW had some supply issues with the performance parts, that's the reason for the delay. I'm not sure about the availability in the US market, however, here in the Middle East region the performance parts are already available along with the engine tuning. My dealer has one on order for me and the parts manager has informed me that they're expecting it later this week, along with the performance upgrade. Hopefully I can get the car done by next week. My plan is to install the aerodynamic performance kit along with black kidney grill, plus the engine tuning.
I'll keep you guys posted...cheers

sweet thanks, I did the black kidney grills and euro side markers. also did M dead pedal. now I am waiting to do the engine upgrade, if it's still in the $1500 range. I have a feeling it's gonna be marked WAY up.

Isn't the engine upgrade just a software change and not a chip or hardware change of any kind??

Why would there be a delay in that???

unless of course BMW is going to be stupid and make you buy the entire package to get any of it , then it would be Dinan time.

not to take this thread OT but, I would think Dinan's tune/flash would cost more than BMW's (albeit most likely bigger gains than BMW's tune), not to mention that Dinan would still void your OEM warranty, obviously Dinan provides their own warranty, but for some: slightly better performance over "stock", better priced, and OEM warranty still good, well that would be a "no brainer".

BTT:
I would assume BMW is waiting to offer everything as one big pkg, exterior mods as well as performance mods, however I am sure you can purchase everything individually.

Generally I agree it would be easier to go with a BMW performance upgrade. But this statement seems to be some fud that BMW has promoted for years and is not true at least in the US.

Understanding the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975
In cases where such a failed aftermarket part is responsible for a warranty claim, the vehicle manufacturer must arrange a settlement with the consumer, but by law the new - vehicle warranty is not voided.

Today, I got a call from my dealer informing me that they've received the performnce package along with BMW authorization code for the engine tuning. I'll take my X6 to their garage next week and hopefully have it done by the end of the week. Good thing that their general manager happens to be a good friend of mine, so they gave me nice deal package that includes paint and labor. I will post details and pics once the car's done. Cheers

It's available on the X6 as the 7RR Performance Upgrade pkg. Retail at 1500 bucks. Gives you extra 40 hp gain. It's not available on the M.
