My BMW X6 35iDrive Eissenman Race Exhaust Mods - Short Takes

Okay gents here you go. Have finished the 1st part of my X6 35iDrive upgrade and mods and as promised to a few of you who have inquired here's a quick update.

As you know the X6 5.0 and X6M are at no loss in the terms of exhaust note in quality and sound and aesthetics. But those of us with the 35i (v6) engine have less options available to upgrade our sedate exhausts more in the likeness of our esteemed big brother X6's. However Eissenman and Remus and a few others have come to the rescue. After much research and emails/contacts I decided to go with an Eissenman Race Performance Exhaust. So naturally one of the best distributors of mods in the game Nate@IND graciously helped me source on for fitment on my car. The guys at IND were outstanding to work with from beginning to end. They handled everything from researching my order to fitment options and then shipping to my dealer who did the real work of the install. So if you need to mod your vehicle gents a PM or email to these guys at IND should definitely be your 1st stop.

Okay on to the exhaust. Fitment was superb. No issues from the guys at BMW of Austin whatsover and the exhaust is a direct bolt to your existing fitments and hangers and hardware. No cutting was needed or modifications at all which is also a plus in terms of fitment and labor as well as removal if you later decide to part with your X6 (why I can't imagine). Word of caution is noted here; this is a full exhaust for your X6 guys. It runs from your headers/engine back to the tips and so if you do plan on taking your old exhaust back with you then bring a u haul or plan to have your old one sectioned cause its probably the best way to do it. That aside you have a choice of 90" quad tips or 120" round single tips which definitely will set you off from the stock tips. Only modification required is slight trimming of the outlet trim pieces for your exhaust to fit through but Eissenman provides a template for installers to use. So fitment and quality guys will be no problem if you go with the Eissenman.

Sound. Well it is not an X6M or X6 5.0 of course but it is a definate improvement over the stock exhaust! It has a deeper and more agressive growl both at idle and in motion which you really appreciate and enjoy both at rest and in motion. So far no drone or CEL's have been noted and having had an Eissenman Sport on my e92 M3 coupe I doubt I'll see such problems in the future with my X6 exhaust. So far the exhaust is best when driven in Sport mode where its sound is intoxicating so far. Be advised the exhaust is not broken in yet and won't be for another 1200miles so I'll have to check back in 1000m later but so far so good. However I'll let you guys be the judge of that...so here's a sound clip and pics.

Great info! Thanks for sharing. Gives inspiration and ideas to those of us with 35i's, since it seems like not a lot of mods out there for us.

Oh there are things/mods you can do out there. You just have to look for them and sometimes get a little creative. For instance Remus's X6 5.0 Sport Exhaust WILL fit a 35idrive X6 but you will need adapaters for the pipes. Remus will provide them but you gotta ask/inquire. I went with Eissenman because it was a full exhaust and also had one on my former e92 M3 and it was the bomb (sounded just great!).

Car is currently getting an M Performance Bumper and rotors/brakes upgraded so stand by for updates/more pics. Thanks.

Okay gents...part 2 of the upgrade is done/completed. M Sport Bumper and M Performance Read Spoiler (matte black) added along with Stoptec cross drilled rotors and new ceramic brakes. Vehicle was also lowered on H&R Sport Springs and a set of Philips 12824WLEDX1 DayLight 8 High Powered Luxeon LED Daytime Running Lights were added also to complete the look.

Not bad...I very pleased and the car turned out very nicely. Now to decide on wheels. Am partial to keeping 20" as much more rubber is available for this size/fitment and I do not like the rubber band look. Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Wow! The car looks spectacular. I just got a 2013 bmw x6 3.5L and I am planning on doing some modifications to it too. The only thing I would add to the back is the carbon fiber spoiler that BMW performance offers.
