2013 X5 50i Cylinder Misfire
Hello! Hope someone can help me? I purchased a used 2013 X5 50i with 72k miles. I now have 75k miles and have issues. It all started with the "limp mode" during "spirited" driving. It was throwing a Cylinder Misfire - 1. After some research I figured I would replace all the coil packs and plugs. Well, it got worse! Now the car misfires during idle and now throws a Cylinder Misfire - 7. I replaced the old coil pack and plug on cylinder 7 but it was still misfiring and threw the code. Ordered a new injector and purchased the cable and ISTA-D. Replaced the injector and coded the calibration data. Truck runs better but still misfires during idle and no power. I didn't run it long but no codes or "limp" mode. Any ideas or suggestions?

Any fault codes?
N63 injectors are under BWM extended warranty 10years/150k miles so you don't have to replace them yourself. Diagnosis at dealer costs $160 (they will test vacuum leaks) but if it turns out to be injectors then it will be completely free diagnosis and repair. |

mikechie Did you ever get this resolved?
I have the same issue (2013 e70 5.0), although I have had mine into the dealer for almost 6 months replacing coils, injectors, fixing vacuum leaks etc... I have 3 coils left to replace but so far every time they replace one, another coil (not yet replaced) throws a misfire. All misfires are during a "rollon" acceleration. Launching from a stop is fine, and driving "tame" is fine, but an aggressive acceleration when already moving throws a misfire. I couls simlly replace the last 3 coils and see what happens, but I suspect I might still have issues with the weekest coil of 8 (even if that is one of the newly replaced coils) I would be most appreciative for any info you can provide. |
