Arrow Track Comparison: X6 vs Cayenne Turbo vs ML63 AMG vs Q7

http://www.carsession.com/car-news/m...nne-turbo.html

Awesome comparison test done by a british website...
X6 50i vs Cayenne Turbo vs ML63 vs Q7 V12

All were driven around a small and fairly technical race track...
Check out the times at the end of the second video

1. Cayenne Turbo 1:47.5
2. X6 -- 1:47.6
3. ML63 AMG -- 1:48.3
4. Q7 V12 -- 1:50.7

Pretty impressive considering the price of the "standard" X6 is considerably less than all of these options. Makes me think what an X6M would have done to the competition...

Awesome videos. Thanks for sharing.

Given the size of the track I wonder how much difference the M would make. Still it would have been fun to see it. Who would have thunk the V12 would have been such a dog?

Put the performance (or DINAN) tune on that 50i and it might have cut that tenth off.

They should have compared the X6M instead according to the model of the rest of the group.

Agree that the X6M should have been in this group given the fact that they put the amg and cayenne turbo in there. VERY impressed with the time put in by the X6 5.0.

X6M would have done too much damage to these cars
Imagine extra 155 hp over X6 50, plus M suspension and rear vectoring diff?
So they opted for lesser version of X6

Given the age of the videos this is probably the old Cayenne Turbo. I'd love to see this test with the new one. Is the Porsche really that quiet in the cabin or was there something wrong with the mic?

On the X6: "5 litre i, well it's not a 5 litre i, it's a 5.0i, or is it a 50i? I don't know. It's really the most stupidly named vehicle on the planet because actually it's a 4.4 twin turbo..."

lmao ^^^

I think for the test they should have used the X5, not the X6. What's the weight difference btw? Also, I would like to see a new test with the X5-M, new Cayenne turbo etc. That said I think it's funny looking at track times for these huge overpriced overweight beasts. Pointless cars.

They used the Cayenne Turbo . . . Diesel. The real Cayenne Turbo runs the same time as a Carrera 4s around technical tracks. Sorry, but I don't think the X6 or X6M would hold an ounce to that. If they do, touche.

Driver's republic ceased publication in Summer '09 before the X6 M was launched.

Without comparing the X6M or X5M (X5M being the better comparison), I can not take that comparison seriously.

I also think they should have compared the x5M instead. The x6 in my opinion is more a crossover than an SUV , compared to the competition.

i think this comparison was more of a joke than anything and a satire on the whole "fastest SUV in the world" moniker given to these ridiculous SUVs.
