Edited: Car is back! A week later after buying, two issues.
I'm not happy at all but I love this truck and I don't even know what to do.
After getting the car last weekend I wen't to my local dealer ship to check a vibration when turning on a stop sign and if the N63 recall was done. 1- Well the vibration is coming from the transfer box and they told me the tires were the cause of it. Indeed I checked them and has one brand in the front and one the rear. Transfer box + labor = $6600 Then a new set of tire. 2- The recall was done in April this year and now there is white smoke from the exhaust. I guess they did something wrong on the recall with the head gasket that pretty much allowing coolant pass through or burning oil, I don't know. So number one has to be take care by the dealer who sold me the truck and number two by the BMW dealer who did the recall. This is not funny without warranty. I still want the car till at least the warranty runs out. Anyone know what is the warranty for the parts after doing the recall repair and if any part has to be change twice by the recall. The cost is here:

So neither of these were present a week ago at purchase? Did you get a PPI done as it's out of factory warranty?
I believe the parts warranty is a year but if it's N63 campaign related maybe longer? |

Better happen no while the dealer is still on the hook as opposed to after.
Bought one and after 24 hours had misfires. Long story they replaced injectors and plugs at dealers expense. |

You're lucky in that you're still inside that 30 day window as it sounds like you have coverage. I hope you get this X5 up and running properly…then you'll be able to enjoy it |

I love the 50i power but im concern about all this after warranty runs out in 3 or 4 years. Im staring to think about a 35i in term of realibility but i will miss the power and sound. |

Done throw in the towel after 1 week. You might not be happy driving a 35i after owning a 50i? |

Before making any rash decisions and looking at other options I'd see how things work out after the dealership performs the necessary repairs. I would say that you should prepare yourself and have a warranty on the vehicle as the 50i is notorious for having issues.
If you continually have to make trips for repairs then at that point I'd consider the possibility of returning the truck for something more reliable. Unfortunately with BMWs, more power = more problems. |

Was it due to mismatched tire sizes? Do you know what sizes were on front/rear?

My '11 3.5i has been very reliable, out of warranty, 50k miles. While I'm sure I would appreciate the extra power of the 5.0i, I'm thrilled to stay away from the maintenance issues.

Not about size. It is about different brands = different diameters = messing with the xdrive = broken transfer case.

Well some info about the tire brands and sizes would still be helpful. There is an ongoing debate on this forum of how much front/rear variance is safe, and it would be interesting to know what kind of variance yours had that led to the problems you are now experiencing.

I'm with you. I've always been a proponent of matched sets in OEM sizes.

I hope that's sarcasm cause the M5 is one of the worst in terms of money pits. Not sure about the F10 but E60 ownership cost are nearly identical to Lambo or Ferrari.

I was talking about the F10. I hear nothing but good about them. E60 will always be a classic though

Not sure what you're worried about mate, if it's all still under warranty. Like everyone has always said on here, it's not worth keeping an X5 unless you have an extended warranty.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it now as everything is under warranty for 4 years or 60k miles. Just thinking in a long run as I will like to keep it as much as I can. I guess there is always an aftermarket warranty willing to cover after the 100k
