Hey Dima, I'm getting close... I can only think of 2 things that it really wants; a Dome Hood and a Big Brake Kit.... Although you keep surprising me with your recent mods and making me want them too! When I run out of mods, my usual path is to sell and move on to the next project. My next car will be a Porsche GT3, but I think I'm at least 2.5 years away from that (unless I decide that I can actually afford one earlier!). Meanwhile, I plan to keep and enjoy the X5M at least until then. |

You’re truck is looking awesome with that interior upgrade....the trim must have cost a fortune.
How are the turbos running? I looked back at your dyno and noticed the computer calculated crank HP showed only 13% drivetrain loss...your actual crank should be higher based on your 594whp, right? Still no issue with tranny? Also did you get pics of the turbine side of the pure turbos? |

Man - I was just about to ask how much the trim ran you, but it's probably beyond my budget!
With the Stg 2 turbos - do you ever launch the car or only get on the throttle from a roll? I've been afraid to do any hard launches with the DP/tune for fear of breaking something in the trans, but I'd be curious of your experience with even more power.

In my case, I always make sure the engine oil is at operating temperature before any hard acceleration attempts. When I do get on it, I usually roll on the throttle after shifting into 2nd (first gear comes at you pretty fast). This way, the power delivery comes on smoothly rather than more abrupt. I have launched it a few times, but I never felt like anything was ready to break. I'm sure if you beat on it each time you get in it, launch it at every chance and don't bother to wait for the engine oil to reach operating temperatures, then you are probably asking for something to break... M5James would probably be your best source of information on this as he had done more research than anyone on these boards, has accomplished extensive mods and drives his pretty hard on a daily basis. |

I started out that morning in the mid 2:40 range, by mid afternoon, I was running in the low 2:30's with a best lap time of 00:02:29.559 (X5M). I was also very consistent with the (M4) and posted a best overall lap time of 00:02:29.427 with it (sorry M4 beats X5M this time, but only by a fraction of a second!). I'm confident that if I had run the second day, I could have improved my times even more! If you check the data acquisition logs for the two days, there were only a handful of cars that were able to post lower lap times between all the run groups: novice, intermediate and advanced. I happened to be the 8th fastest car recorded that day in the M4 and 9th overall fastest in the X5M! As a comparison, Carl Troy (2x National Championship Winning Porsche) posted a best lap time of 00:02:20:97 on the same course in his 620hp X5M. (Check out Carl's video here) Carl has: 28 race wins 2x Regional and National champion 7x Track Record Holder ...so I'm pretty happy with my times as a novice! Carl is very fast it is awesome how fast the X5M accelerates! I have a 35d and I am tempted to visit a track! I just need to make sure I have the right brakes and tires. I am sure the truck would eat both up!!! Here is a couple of videos of when I visited VIR in 2015. I dipped in the low 2:20s and I think I could have gotten faster for sure but that would be a huge feat for me to get below 2:20. Always loved your x5m! What finish is that on the ADVs? Is that brushed cleared or brushed smoke clear?
