BMW X6 xDrive35d by AC Schnitzer and Hartge tested head-to-head
Using the same base X6 xDrive 35d (diesel), the two famed German tuning houses AC Schnitzer and Hartge have put together their own take on where to take these cars. And we're glad to see that German magazine AutoZeitung has gotten their hands on both of these vehicles and thought to put together a head-to-head. If you are german speaking, make sure to read the entire article by following the link below.
For the non-german speaking among us, here is a brief summary: Hartge - 328 HP / 675 Nm torque - 22" Wheels AC Schnitzer - 313 HP / 680 Nm torque - 23" Wheels - 30mm lowering On both cars, significant improvements in cornering speeds was seen because of the changes to the suspension and addition of very low profile tires. Despite the noticeable improvement in power output, fuel consumption has not significantly changed. AutoZeitung was overall mixed on the styling, not very impressed but conceded that it was a matter of owner's taste in the end. New Type VIII ACS wheel!
Great post!
The ACS X6 Falcon has a very aggressive new wheel set up by ACS. It's a fully forged (center/barrel/outer) and staggered set (11x23" front and 12x23" rear) specifically designed for the new X vehicles and the new F01 7. |

I believe Hartge is a bit classier than AC. Nonetheless, I wouldn't spend my money on any of their products. They seem...a bit over the top, all of them, every single one. They should grab a hold of the concept that sometimes less is more.

I like the lowered stance, but other than that, they are crimes against humanity. The guy that came up with the blue engine cover should be shot right away.
At first I though the magazine did a terrible photo shoot, but after thinking about it, I'm sure they purposefully decided to spare the public terrible pain. |
