Heated Seat distribution on the x6?

I can't seem to find the heated seat distribution between the seat and the seat back as i had on my X5. Is this possible on the sport seats or just the multi-contour seats?

Thanks,

csimon

On the x6 when you activate the seat heater you will see on the display both a bar with one to three bars (for heat intensity) and then on the right you will see a seat representative. Push iDrive to the right and highlight the seat and then turn the knob left or right to make the seat or back higher.

Darien I think that is only for the multicontour seats, correct?

I went to a dealer and they think it is only part of the multicontour seats.

Mine are solid but they are the upgraded vented ones so maybe they are different.

The vented ones are the multi contour which would make sense. The sports don't offer this which is fine, but still would have been nice.

I have comfort seats , the setting is in idrive.
from the manual:
Temperature distribution
The heat output can be distributed variously in the seat cushion and the backrest.
iDrive, for operating principle refer to page 16.
1. Open the start menu.
2. Move the controller to the left to open "Cli- mate".
3. Select "Driver's seat climate" or "Passen- ger's seat climate" and press the controller.
4. Turn the controller to adjust the distribu- tion.
The setting is applied.

Dmlgc,

I have the sport seats and that submenu does not come up in the Idrive...hence my question.

Does anyone have the sport seats to verify that these do not have the capability of offering heat distribution?

Thanks.

Mine is Chateau Red Alcantara/Leather Sports seat, and I DO have the option in iDrive to adjust heat distribution..

csimon:
I have attached some photos of the iDrive settings.

Settings > Climate > Seat Heating Distribution
In here you can slide the bar left and right by turning the knob.

OK...

So now it seems that BMW thinks they got rid of this option in 2011.

THey have no clue as why it is not on my car nor on any 2011 x5 either.

Any VINS out there for US only cars that are 2011 with sport seats only?

Thanks.

Same is true for my 2011 x5. I have heated front and rear seats but NO ventilation or active option.

Dealer confirmed seat heat distribution option was removed in 2011 unless you have ventilation and/or active.

Disappointing as I do have it on my 2010 535i with only front and rear seat heat.
