Dontri

I have a 06 325xi wagon. When braking at just about any speed my steering wheel shakes. Could this be the front wheel bearings? Also I can feel a slite vibration that seems to act like the one of the wheel bearings is going.

You most likely have a 'warped' brake rotor. If its not that it could be some of your bushing in the suspension need replacement.

I have been told by a racing mechanic that a warped rotor is almost never the case. The degree of heat needed to warp modern BMW rotors is much higher than most people would experience even tracking their cars.

What is most likely the problem is brake pad transference to the rotor, which has caused unevenness. Brake pad transference generally occurs when standard road pads have heated up from extended and spirited driving. Pads designed for higher extended temperatures will not have the same initial "bite" as typical road-going pads, but will give you shorter stops and will not transfer to the disc as readily.

This..., been there done it 3 times, if it only happens when you apply the brakes you will most likely need pads and rotors. I solved the problem about 75,000 miles ago with these-> http://www.turnermotorsport.com/c-98...ors-discs.aspx Wow there on sale! The xi may have a different rotor setup than my 325i.

Rock the front wheels while the car standing on the ground. If you can feel any play have a closer look to the bones.
