2012 X5 Aux Fan?
Took my car to the shop for an overheat warning, had the water pump and tstat changed and the alarm came back up. I have seen this as a common issue on all previous generations but havent seen many on this model. I have around 95k on this car just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue.
Thanks, |

"11" 3.5i 81k and mine is in service since yesterday(mon). Warning over the weekend of over heating the 2nd message was overheated results in no throttle. Days before this I was hearing the fan or electric water pump go on for no reason, it was bugging out. This is a common problem with BMW & no recall yet
I'll keep updating once I receive a call from service

Thanks, i had that already changed at around 90k, i had the fan changed and used the following part number - https://www.advantagebmwparts.com/oe...PiSRoCvPDw_wcB
The part number is supposed to be a replacement of an older part that is still on some sites which is a few hundred cheaper. The labor on its own was cheap, the part at local dealerships are around 900 to 1000 bucks, i looked online and found an online store in Houston that 2nd day shipped it for around 700. Car is running fine, i am not hearing the fan whine as loud. Also it seems when the overheating would start, the AC would stop blowing cold air. |
