2012 X5 M Sport delivery
After a long and winding search for a specific X5 model/year/color combo/package configuration, it finally showed up last week in CA. Once the docs were signed it was loaded onto a transport to Seattle. Thanks to all of you who helped answer my many questions over the past several months.
2012 xDrive50i - 29K miles, CPO until 9/2017 Alpine White/Cinnamon/Bamboo M Sport w/ 20's Premium Cold Weather Active Steering Multi-Contour Seats 3rd Row Seats BMW Apps I'm not much for mods but I do have the following 2 items arriving this week - -New X5M tri-stitch steering wheel w/ paddles (my 2012 is a June 2011 build, so no paddles) -iND painted front reflectors Just a few iPhone pics on the transport - I need to get it cleaned up and then I'll take some better photos. And I did remove that hideous front plate and mount, even though it's required in WA state. |

Dude, Jeff, sweet score! You didn't tell me you purchased EXACTLY what we want... Still looking down here in the opposite end of the country, haven't found the right vehicle just yet.
Definitely more pics!

Thanks everyone - definitely an exciting week.
P1et - correct on the asking price of $51,703. I got it for considerably less than that, though still closer to high 40's than low 40's. Currently on the BMWUSA.com CPO page, there are 65 2012 xDrive50i's. Of those 65, only 3 are M Sports that I can see (WTF…more people should have checked that box on the order sheet!), and all 3 are priced between 52K and 53K. So yes, high 40's is about right. Low 40's for the more stripped down vehicles, or those with much higher miles. JupiterBMW - Ha! I knew you were looking for Alpine over Cinnamon M Sport. I think we were looking for the same vehicle, except my wife insisted on 3rd row seats, which this one had. Keep in touch and I will keep an eye out for you as I still look. I definitely think if you're particular, you need to be willing to travel/ship one of these. |

Quick interior pic -
New X5M steering wheel - Front plate removed & iND painted front reflectors installed. As you can see they aren't an exact match due to a previously installed clear-bra that has begun to fade - |

Looking good mate. Is the X5M steering wheel any thicker than a regular M steering wheel? Or is the difference only in the stitching?

- tri-stitching instead of black - different style/color paddles (referring to the later 2012 & 2013 M Sports that had paddles) - slightly different button configuration on the right side |

Jealous you have 2012 headlights mate. Ugh. Only thing I wish I had on mine. But for the price that the swaps are going for, it's just not worth it.

I imagine the swaps are very expensive and probably hard to source the parts? |

Looks Great! I also just picked up a similar vehicle.
Question, did you install the front colour-matched reflectors? I've read a few posts about people having issues putting them on. Haven't got mine back yet, but wanted to know if you had to buy new rivets for the flares like some have said. Seems like you can pull it back far enough to get access. |

I paid a body shop to install mine - they pulled the front bumper off for the best access and had them installed in an hour. I paid about $150 (I provided new, painted reflectors - the body shop didn't spray my original reflectors). Last edited by jiggz; 08-28-2014 at 09:19 AM.. |

Swaps aren't hard to source, but when it's all said and done, it can be around $1,500. That's a lot of money for new angel eyes!!! |

Agreed, that's quite a bit of $ for angel eyes! For the swap don't you need to replace the entire headlight unit, or you actually pull it apart and just upgrade certain components? I never really looked into that - I would have just replaced the bulbs had I gotten a 2011. |
