Thanks, I also tried plasti-dipping my wife's 50i trunk roundel and it started deteriorating after time...wound up ordering 2 roundels

I ordered the bolts in black by phone, I can't remember the length off the top of my head https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E70-X5.../H-and-R/15mm/

https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E70-X5...s,_-and-_Nuts/

I also ordered 2 of these...1 for each truck
https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E70-X5...ing/ES2986358/
Thanks for the links. I'm trying to decide what to run on my 214's. I was thinking 25 or 30mm for the rear and either 15 or 20mm for the front. I can only find 15mm in black spacers for the fronts though. (Wanted black in the rear too - but don't see it for the 74.1 hub)

I like how the rears you can still use stock wheel locks since the spacer is bolted to hub and the rim is bolted to the spacer. Do I just have to loose my wheel locks up front now? :

Go with KW V3s. Defo one of the best mods.

We're driving expensive BMWs; not beater Hondas... Sorry.

Your entitled to your opinion.

I guess you would hate going to SEMA show then. All you will see is a sea of donked out 'Hondas'

Sorry Dude... My apologies! I wrote that post on the fly and I really wanted to come back in here and delete it before anyone saw it... Oops! (too late now)
Anyway, my comment was too generalized and I didn't mean to hate on slammed Hondas either (as I had one myself, back in the day). However, when you look at a vehicle from behind and it looks like this; /__\ , I am personally not a fan. I think there is a fine balance between just right and too far. Not sure exactly where that is, but M3 Guy has his spot on! Although I felt that it looked too low with stock wheels, his current wheel choice brought everything together to perfection.

I think it would look better lowered.

I'm struggling with my setup as well. I am currently sitting on H&R 1.2s and sometimes I look at it and it just looks RIGHT, other times I'm thinking that I would like to reduce the gap a little more... maybe I need to go 2" or KW3s and dial it in? Not sure. I'm waiting on the ADVs to show up, then I'll worry about it.

I think I'm gonna retrofit my headlights to LED first...after I mount the BBS wheels next month I'll look into lowering the beast on KW's

Are you getting rid of your BBS's?

Good man! LEDs are the most awesome and needed mod next to the BBS wheels.

Not sure if I will be selling the BBS. They look so perfect on the M, yet I 'just had to have' a set of ADVs!
I figure that if I do decide to keep them, I could always swap them back and forth between the D and have a different look for each vehicle ever so often

I should hopefully have the headlights retrofitted soon...I think you should keep the BBS, you can always change the color instead of spending big bucks on other wheels...imho their is no other set of wheels that look so good on X5M's

It was another beautiful sunny winter day today so JeST and I decided to take the X5M's up to Enthusiasts Details and give them a nice bubble bath...this is imho the best hand car wash in NY for true car enthusiasts...while we waited to have our trucks washed a few E60 M5's showed up along with 2 GTR's

I'll stop by Saturday to check them out...I wanna move the exhaust out past the rear diffuser like we discussed, my rear bumper is covered in black soot!

I just got off the phone with ECS. I was ready to pull the trigger on 20 mm front (ECS) and 30mm rear (H&R). I was going to go with ECS up front since they came with the longer bolts included but I am questioning the quality in the back of my head. What stopped me altogether from placing the order was the conversation I had with the sales rep. He said that nothing above 20 mm is recommended on our platforms. He said it would cause dramatically increased wear on the bearings. What do you think about that?

He's right. Anything above 20mm puts A LOT of excess strain on the wheel bearings. I was going through wheel bearings on my e46 m3 when i had 25 mm's.

I was unaware that anything above 20mm should be mounted on our hubs, I ran 15/25mm on the 50i for a while without any issues if this is true they should really add this information in a disclaimer for potential buyers

Hmm - I'm wondering if going 15/25 is a better bet - using H&R's all around. I measured it with a level and 30 mm is the distance from the fender flare to the wheel, although there is a camber in the rear poking the bottom of the wheel out more. 20mm looked to be just about right up front. I guess 15/25 shouldn't look too far off :
