Q: 22x11 wheels - tire fitment

Hey Guys,

I know usually on multi piece 12 inch width wheel you can go up to a 335 tire.

I think i seen someone say they had a 335 series tire on a 11 inch width.

Can anyone confirm if that fits? or is that too much of a stretch

thanks!

You mean too much of an over hang lol

No, I think you should be ok with that width on an 11.

I think people usually go with 325's on a 21" wheel. remember, you need to match the circumference of your front wheels so you don't mess up the x drive. The matched set is the 285/35/21 and the 325/30/21.

OP you can run that size tire but as one of the posters said, you need to maintain the same size as OEM. I am not sure what the math is in tems of how much margin of error. There is a very limited number of tires, brands, etc. that FIT this size wheel for the X5M.

Porsche, RANGE ROVER, SRT jeep. All use square set ups. The X5/6M has probably the most aggressive wheel sizing on the market. It also makes it very tough to go aftermarket with the limited sizing and companies. Pirelli is the only brand if you don't want RFT.

I ended going with a VELOS custom 20. Living in Boston and the fact that I finally got my brembo front BBK, I decided to stock with 20s and run a high performance all season.

Perhaps in the future I will go 22s. But just so frustrated with the shortage of tires. I can't stand those Pirellis. Ran them on my ML55 and G55 many years ago and they just weren't right for where I live.

Replacement tires don't have to be the same size as OEM (but it will throw your speedo off if they aren't), what is essential is that the circumference of the front and rears be the same - you shouldn't even mix half worn tires with new tires. They shouldn't be off by more than a few 1/16's. Otherwise, you can cause serious problems with and damage to the xdrive system.

I know it's all about size being the same. Just very difficult from my point of view with the limited tires out there for the X5M. In addition very few meet the load rating as well.
