Purpose of inner projectors?

I've notice that my inner projectors never light up? Only the angel eyes ring around them light up, but the rest of the lights - low/high beams comes from the outer projectors. What is the purpose of the inners then?

That is where the bulb is for your halo rings. There is no other functionality.

Are you sure? I'm pretty positive the halos are LEDs?

The inner projector housed the bulb for the old incandescent powered corona rings, on the new LED powered models, the inner projector is for aesthetics only.

I see... wonder if I can stick an HID kit in there for double low beams?
