09' X5 Reviews/Feedbacks

Hi everyone, I currently own an Alpine White 2009 335i coupe. I am having my second child soon and I was looking into purchasing an SUV so I was eyeing a 2009 X5. What are your thoughts of it and are there any major issues I need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought an 09 back in October. I was torn between a cayenne gts, x5 or a camaro. X5 just fit right for me and almost 10k less than the gts I liked...So far only problem was the battery died a few times. U cannot play music while cleaning it or even leave the door/hatch open for an extended period of time. I Scratched the lcd screen using lcd wipes???last few days Ive noticed a rougher idle. If its not gone after next fill up, I'm gonna take it in. It drives awesome imo. More pep than the 04 x5 4.4 i had, but its more motor. Also love that it looks modern even though the design is 7 yrs old ...Good luck with your decision. If u have any specific questions shoot.

The main concern for me is simple: reliability. If I were to pick one up, it would be to keep it long term.
How many miles on yours? Options? Did you get a fair price? The one here is an '09 xDrive30i (iDrive, rear ent., etc).... more option = more things to go wrong

mine had 34k on when purchased if i remember correctly. currently at 43k. i forgot about the cracked rim for my problems list...mine is a 48i msport, nappa leather and dash, comfort seats, and almost every option, except vent seats, rear ent and 3rd row... original msrp was 82k. i paid just a hair over half of that. i bought it as a one owner cpo for about 4500 under the dealer listed price. id say its been reliable, but only time will tell. ive only had it 7 months. made it through a brutal winter with no issues, we'll see about the summer

As soon as you pick one up, check it's history if electric water cooling pump was replaced on it. If not, replace it immediately. It is always better to take care of it before it dies on your long trip, somewhere in the middle of highway. This way you will save on towing service and cut down your replacement cost. After 50k miles (or so) you will have to do it anyways. Better be pro-active, save money and do it before it catches you by surprise.

the x5 is a lot bigger on the outside than inside. a CRV/rav4 have very close total interior capacity as the x5 75 cubic feet~

Other than not that big inside, especially the trunk(x3 bigger trunk) compare to other SUV. Its lovely.

Just get yourself a CPO X5 and you won't have to worry about reliability.
