E70 4.8i Rear Diff

I can't find my old post on this, but my X5 had rear differential failure. I've seen post where the stealership charged over $4500. Its there any suggestions on where to take it and where to get parts which seems to be over $2300 with a ridiculous core charge?

Btw, I'm currently living in Hawaii.

Get one from BMW of Bridgewater, the reman'd unit should be sufficient and it only shows $60 shipping to HI. You need to send them your core...maybe you can call a dealer in CA to match the price and maybe your shipping cost for the core will be lower since CA is closer...worth a shot. I have order a few parts from here no complaints.
