Blower Motor Replacement
2009 X5, 3.0
I replaced a front blower motor on my wife's X5 recently, and now it's making binding/grinding noise at higher speeds. I removed he lower trim below the glove box, removed the lower air duct and removed 4 blower screws. Dropped the blower and installed a new one. Is there a trick to get it to snap in? I'm assuming it's binding to the plastic that surrounds it, but I cannot really see where as it's behind the dash. Any help or info would be appreciated! Thank you |

Chances are you didn't align it up correctly, it's very hard to see up in there while laying on your back...use a small flashlight if you can but basically take your time and try and see the guides and slide it back up slowly. I had missed one guide entirely the first few times just b/c of the position you're in and not having visibility up under there. Hope this helps & good luck!

Thank you! There are two guides and I had the motor slide through them both when I snapped it in. It was staying in place without any screws so I figured it was installed correctly..
Grhh. I will try again this weekend, wish there was some pictures so I can see what exactly is going on. |
