Mean or Careless???

This was my car yesterday after work:

This was my car today after work:

Or someone hit it with purpose and deliberation, or the strong winds we had today (including a tornado watch) ripped the door out of someone's hand and smacked it against my car... and blew away the note that the responsible person left pinned under my wiper blade.

I work in the U.S. Census Bureau headquarters building. I would not expect this from my co-workers... but there it is. I'm disappointed.

... and why are my photos so big???

We have cameras all over the parking lot. They will check to see the car that was next to me and they can identify it by its tag as it drives through the lot, but the angle of the cameras likely won't allow for the capture of the door hitting my car. It'll be up to the person to admit they hit the car.

So sorry to hear.

It always pains me to see door dings, especially this super deep one on your X6.
I hope you can find the culprit.

Good luck!

P.S. I am looking to install Blackvue camera on my car. It records even when you are parked. I know it won't record the sides, but there is a chance that they would walk over the front.

what a bummer - hope that can be fixed via PDR? Looks to be right on the seam... hopefully the cameras can turn up some evidence for you.

No luck! My car was parked just outside the view of the camera. I'll file a property damage claim with the Govt, but I'm probably on my own with this one.

Sorry to hear that happened! Had our x6 about a week when it got door dinged right on the crease of the passenger door...really ticks you off just how careless people or haters are! Anyway lucky we have a good PDR guy at the dealer...

I'm thinking of simply going with PDR to just get it over with.

My wife had her door almost completely destroyed - same thing, windy day, but for her had to have been a conversion van. As always, just outside the view of the camera.

Fortunately for you, that is fixable with PDR. Probably about $150 - and even with the seam I bet they can get it perfect (I had one much worse from a shopping cart on the passenger door, right across the seam. They got it right out. Just don't wait too long - you will get more angry every day.

PS - It was careless of them to let the door fly and mean of them to not leave a note.

It's crazy. The guy wanted $580 for a 100% guaranteed job. He claims that the dent is in a difficult place to get to and the crease makes it difficult to make a 100% job. If it's not 100%, then the job is free. He eventually went down to $480. Body shop wants $789.

do the PDR. NOT the body shop.

if they fill and repaint, when you go to trade it in, you might be shocked. Dealer almost always use a paint gauge now and they will pick up the repaint and give you less on the trade in.

people are scumbags. I always park out of the way. and even with tons of parking spots close to store or building, somebody with a POS car will park right next to me??!! i just dont get it.

I was looking for something like the Blackvue at that price range but wanted something that would run on it's own battery as X6 has history of battery problems.

Paid 150 at my local BMW dealer...the guy says he will fix 3 dings per panel for that price. My damage was right on the crease as well although smaller...shop around but definitely use PDR. Its not even noticeable now.😃

That's too much. Keep shopping. The body shop probably won't do PDR - you want PDR. Ask the dealer how much their PDR guy would charge.
