Should I buy a new 2011 X5M at this point?
Local dealer is willing to give big discounts on a new 2011 X5M, Black Sapphire/Black interior/Silver trim.
I would be trading in my 2011 550i (which I like a lot), and perhaps has a better seating position/more luxurious then X5M. I plan to swap the X5M for the M5 a few months after its been launched and deliveries have occurred in the USA. What do you guys think? Should I go for an X5M at this point in time? What is resale value like with say 5K miles on it, in approximately 5-6 months? Is there demand for X5M's?

If you're worried about resale, you'll save a lot more money just hanging on to the 550i until the new M5 comes out. M's tend to tank in value, almost 6k a lot of times immediately after you title it.

I took my '11 X5M with 12,000km into a merc dealership, was going to trade it in on a CLS63. They offered me $79,000, so I will keep my money until the M5 comes out.

$10k on a $97k MSRP at year end isn't much. We bought a GLK recently and got $7500k of $46,500 MSRP. I would bite if it's more around $15k.

A $97K M invoices about $90 to $91K depending on the content. If they are already at $10K less then they have already given back any holdback for true cost. There may be some BMWNA trunk money to clear old 2011's still on the lots but I have not seen any indication of any. I think $15K is way too much to expect off a new truck. If someone can find $15K off a new truck, do it. Just my $.02 and probably depends on area a bit but in my experience Mercedes discounts can get huge compared to BMW's, especially limited supply models such as an M. |

Went to dealer by me last night. X6M, carbon black/black perforated, w/all the options. MSRP $106K, willing to sell for $2000 over invoice. Had I pressed and dropped the CC on the desk for deposit I'm confident he would have gone down to $1000 over invoice but I wasn't buying, just curious. |

2k above invoice is a lot no? EVen if the dealer sells at invoice, they still make money. I dont blame people for hustling at work but it isnt like economy and the market has been all that great lately either.
