X6M Exhaust manifold and Turbos Explained

The X6M literally has a mechanical breakthrough when it comes to the exhaust manifold and turbos. This article explains why it is a superior setup and also includes some good pictures. The M has different turbo's with dual scroll turbine sections, and an exhaust manifold that supplies a balanced delivery of exhaust pulses to the turbo's. I just wish they would have included a BOOST gauge.

Very interesting! Thanks for the link. I second your comment about a boost gauge ... but unfortunately, it's a pretty rare thing for FI cars to have these days ...

BMW should think about a fix for the non M versions so they don't end up in the position Toyota is in. It's just a matter of time before someone gets clobbered due to turbo lag, BMW will not be able to say they didn't know about it.
