Sneak peek: Road trip we (me and my wife) will be doing second part of august 2013!
In 2011 we did a similar trip with another Z4 along the French rivièra, Garda Lake and Croatian Rivièra... FUN! |

After putting on a small lincense plate I also changed the led fogs (still had these laying around). The leds I had were pretty poor in light quality, so I've put in some brigther ones:
Still have these laying around too: So I have 2 sets of fog leds for grabs should anyone make me a good offer, I paid 20£ for each set (+postage). Both sets are still brand new (the ones I had before ran just a few 100 miles). PM me if interested (no idea on postage cost though). |

Car looks great - that road trip would make a great story! My suggestion is to start a thread and post details / photos of your journey. I bought an E39M5 on the East Coast and photo journaled (sp?) my return trip, it was a lot of fun.

So I was getting some rubbing at the rear, especially at the corner where the rear bumper meets the arches, quite a bit of plastic already shaven off, but I think that's from before the lowering as well. So I tried rolling the arches myself. I heated the arches with a heatgun to make the paint a little more flexible as I heard a lot about the paint cracking. Then I took a plastic pipe (about 2,5 inches or 5 cm), lifted the car a bit and rolled the pipe in the wheel gap over the tyre. The inner lip now has a V-shape and the arches are slightly pulled out as well, which I don't mind. Then I mounted 12mm spacers on the front wheels as well. She now has a much better stance in the front as well

Great looking car! Nice to see the progress it had made. What bulbs did you use for the headlights? Was it difficult to replace? Do you get any error codes?

It's been ages since I made any updates here... time to update!
In the meantime not that much happened to the car actually. I removed the springs as they were a reaaly harsh and bumpy ride. Now installed coilovers, which are a much nicer drive. I also added front wind splitters as I wanted a slightly more agressive look on the front of the car. As 1 of my angels died, I (temporarily) killed the same one on the other side too. Led angels are waiting in my garage to be fitted, will be loads better that the ccfl ones. Those huge boomerangs will probably be blacked out too. |
