E70 x5 Megan lowering springs review
First off i will say this is my first truck! I had over 20 cars but this is my first bmw.
I own a 2009 x5, silver. Non air ride, no third row seat. The car came with megan lowering springs, which felt ok at first. But as i kept driving the ride got worse. They were brand new when i bought the truck, i loved the drop look but the handling got worse everyday. I thought the springs needed to settle as with any lowering springs, that was not the case. I could not drive in the rain cause the car would slide and the back would fishtail. These springs are very bad for our trucks . Im writing this review because i have never found a review for these megan springs. I searched online many times but never found anything. Maybe i had a defected set, maybe its my truck? I dont know. In anycase i just want everyone to be safe. With that being said i would not recommend these springs by any means at all! I bought new stock oem springs, put them on and now the ride is amazing! Please be safe out there, the cheap route is not always the best! |

Maybe its the shocks. Stock shocks arent up to the task of the rates of lowering springs.

It could be, but i know the shocks at least werent blown. I changed the shoks first then the springs. But you are right it could be that the shocks cant handle the springs. But no car i ever lowered with stock shocks on aftermarket springs, ever handled so bad. But again this is a truck were talking about.
