springs?

Hey I have a broken factory spring so I'm gonna lower it now. h&r lists the same kit for x5 and x5M, yet dinan's says x5M only. Does anyone know if all self leveling e70s fit the same spring?!? I wanna use the dinan on my 09 with msport/ adaptive drive

H&R
I think are the only ones that fit the X5 nonM
I have them on my 2009 X5 e70
I like the way the X5 looks and drives I have sprint booster and spark plug coils looking to do the muffler
I'm going to do the same thing to the other one I have 2011

Thanks for the response. I thought I read of a guy using eibach on a self leveling truck. I also saw a few posts stating Msport and M use the same suspension.. Of course I can't find it and search pulls up so much . I only want about an inch as my summer wheels are 23s so I dont want the almost 2" that h&r gives

Hi there
H&R 1.2 the front went down to 1/34 after the springs settled I have 20" staggered the X5 rides so good
On thing I can tell you is that when you do the back use the oem links as a reference when you preset the links. 1/4 difference equals 1 inch in height .
I used this post as a reference

From what I hear, you will want to adjust the rear links to 67mm for the best ride quality. This setting helps eliminate the "bouncy" feeling.

Hi
The length of the rear links will depend on how much comfort vs looks 67mm is about right
If Dinan is what you want to use I recommend calling them and get the advice from the experts and let us know what you come up with

Yeah I left them a VM bc I couldn't get through. Local dealership has no clue. Figured the forums would know. I've seen some posts saying x6 uses the same springs also. Gonna give it a shot. Worst case scenario is I lose the shipping money on the return... Its probably safe to assume that since hr uses the same kit for all x5's and x6s that the dinan kit will be fine...

Let us know what you find out
Btw my mid muffler had a leak, my local muffler shop suggested an X pipe instead of the muffle which is way cheaper and now I have a bit of rumble not to loud just right for me

Update. Got the dinan springs on. Very happy with the stance. Rides nice. Just a hair more firm. For whatever reason mobile won't let me add pics. Will try to get some up tomorrow when I put the summer wheels on

Can you take some measurements from the ground to the bottom of the fenders on all 4 corners when you get a chance? Looking to see how much the kit actually drops.

Last I heard Dinan has Eibach make their springs to certain specifications. If that's true and the Dinan springs are anything like the Eibach, ride quality is real nice.

Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Ride height looks good. Did you use the Dinan bump stops or keep the factory ones?

X2...been staring down the dinan springs for a while but don't want to pay $250 for the bump stops. Thinking ST bump stops but unsure of the height.

Guys, just cut the OE bump stops. No need to spend the money on something that literally takes 60 seconds to do with a razor blade.

I didn't buy the dinan ones and not sure if the dealership cut the stock ones, but I doubt it. Just didn't seem necessary to me with how mild the drop was supposed to be.

Soft side or hard side? I haven't really heard from people who have done this. I've read several long tirades about how cutting them still destroys the ride because the stops are meant to be progressive and it you cut the hard side it gets too soft and can cause damage while cutting the soft side makes it too hard. I was hoping that the dinan drop was so small that it wouldn't matter but have t heard from anyone who bought the dinan springs.

Honestly I think the Dinan and Eibach setups are fine as is since the drop is rather conservative. I had the Eibach and not once did I feel like the suspension ever bottomed out. I think once you get into the 2" drop springs, that's when it becomes necessary.

I've always just shaved/cut off the bottom section of the bump stop and have never had issues in the past. $250 for bump stops is just stupid.

Sorry forgot to take measurements before swapping wheels. No complaint on the ride quality so far.

Measurements won't do us any good now! Those rims are huge.
