2013 X5 5.0i M Sport Brakes
Hey , if the brake light is on for the front brakes, do i just need to replace the pads or does the sensor need to be replaced with them. Just wondering what I need to order besides the pads to get this fixed.

I'm gonna replace the pads , front and rear, and the sensors in the front. Wait till it wears and then replace all of the rotors and pads with performance items. I think thats the best way to go at the moment.

You need to at least have those rotors resurfaced at an autopart store. If not you will lose a lot of braking power because the rotor to brake pad surface will not be even. You don't have to buy new rotors but the auto part store should be able to cut them and tell you if you are in spec.

If brake dust is an issue for you but you like the OEM pad feel and initial bite, the Textar ePad offers exactly that. It's the new compound they are using for all the newer models.
One thing I forgot to mention is to avoid cross drilled or slotted. No real gain, chew through pads and traditionally are louder when braking. |
