X6M or regular X6 Hood

Does anyone know if the regular X6 or X6M hood fits X5M.

Please let me know.

Thank you.

I hope so. The X6M has a beautiful hood. My guess is that they dont though.

I just try the side running aluminium running board from an x6 to my x5.
They just look identical, even when i fit it on the side... BUT when i try to plug it there where very small diferences and it would not fit...
I think it would happen the same with the hood.

The X6 and X5 are different, so that's not a legitimate example.

Yes, both X6M and X6 has the same hood as X5M and X5. The part number for those vehicles is : 41617273439 (or 41617275285 for ALUMINIUM version).

Probably a stupid question but do the oem X6M hoods have the raised bump like M3's do? I was wondering why X5M hoods do not have it like M3's.

I think I just figured it out the 2013 X6M has the raised bulge in the hood.

No, the X6M doesn't have a bulge like the M3, and neither does the X5M. The Vorsteiner carbon fiber hood does however.

For some reason I thought you were looking to buy a used hood off of a non-current year X6M. Either way, it should still fit.

Thanks man! It was well worth the time invested and money spent. I may do the new X6M hood at some point.

It'll be about $900 through Tischer BMW. It's not on their site yet (..no 2013 X6M stuff is available; I'd probably have to message Evan personally to order it), but the 2012 hood is $892. By the time I'm ready to buy it, the hood will likely be in their parts catalog.
