Seat Memory and Multiple Keys
Ok, this may be a RTFM thread...
On my x3, we can set seat memory settings to vary across keys - so 4 in total across 2 keys/2 memory buttons. I cannot get the 2013 X5 to set the memory button to different positions across the two keys... Talked to the SA and frankly I'm not getting a straight answer...Any input to share?? The memory seats on the X5 with Comfort Seats are complex and I hate having to reset em...

There was no response because the seat memory system is confusing. From what I can figure there are 2 seat memory setting. But when you set the seating in iDrive to "Last seat position auto.", it memorizes to that fob what was last set. This way when you return to the car with a specific fob it sets everything to that last settings related to that fob. Of course you can hit mem 1 or 2 and set it to one of those as well.

Leave it to BMW to make it confusing....I have the iDrive set to last seat position and in theory, the dang thing should work....Hate experimenting as the "perfect seat setting" is something that comes from some behind the wheel time and many minor adjustments.. That's been my experience with comfort seats and a bad lower back...

Once you get that perfect setting, put it in one of the memories. Hopefully you can retrieve it when you needed to.
One more issue, the memory seat has a fickle memory. Sometimes it remembers sometimes not. Very frustrating. The only thing you can count on the the last setting. Last edited by Jfpx5d; 04-01-2013 at 08:16 PM.. |

I just got a used 2012 X5 and am loving it. It came with only one key so I ordered another one from BMW. When I used the new key all of the radio (and other) settings reverted to a default setting. When I used the first key all my setting and stations returned. Is there any way to have the second key have the same settings as the first key so the other driver does not have to repopulate all the radio and other settings? I had the same issue with my Acura MDX and am hoping BMW has a better way! Wishful thinking??
