Navigation screen anti reflective coating worn

Hi All,

I have a 2011 CPO with one year left on the new vehicle warranty. I noticed the nav screen has the anti reflective coating worn towards the bottom of the screen.

I didn't notice until the sun was reflecting light back at me. Because the way the screen is pitched, sun light blinds the bottom view of the screen.

Can this be covered under the warranty?

Looks to me as though it has been warm off by setting something there all the time or cleaning every day. I have not had this issue on my e70's

Looks like that was caused by someone rubbing on it with a rag or the wrong cleaning solution. I doubt BMW will cover that under warranty.

On some models, it was simply a cover on top of the actual GPS screen. On other models, it all comes in one piece.

I do know that a friend with an M3 ended up having luck getting it replaced under warranty by the dealership though. I say give it a try and see what they say. Worst they can do it say no.

CPO does not cover anything relating to navigation. The new CPO elite does.

Even if I have one more year on the original warranty?

It's not covered by CPO, but it *is* covered by the factory warranty if it's indeed defective.
