Just ordered a new X5 :)

Finally decided to buy the X5, and placed an order for it earlier today. Can't wait to get if. Unfortunately it won't arrive before August.

Went for a Sapphire Black X5 30d M-Sport Edition. Decided to delete the sports suspension for better ride comfort. Chose the 20" 333M wheels, aluminum exterior trim and roof rails. Oyster leather interior with Individual interior leather trim.

From the accessory list i picked:
Navi Pro,
Head-up Display,
Speed limit information system,
Active Steering,
HiFi Stereo,
Comfort seats,
Rearview Camera with Top View,
Heated steering wheel,
Active Xenons,
Towbar, among other minor stuff.

I'm really unsure about the sports suspension, especially with the 20" rims. Is it better to drive with the sports suspension, or just firmer? I realize the X5 will never be a sports car, so I'm currently leaning towards having it delivered with the normal suspension - which i guess is more comfortable?

Depressing to see what you guys pay for these cars in countries where road tax politicians still have some sense.

M Option?

I didn't think you could get the M package with the diesel?? Do you have a copy of your build sheet? I'm curious to see what the cost was. I also would like to show it to the dealer I have been talking to so I can show him how you ordered it.

Here in Norway all X5s can be delivered with both the normal M-Sport package, and a bigger M-Sport Edition package. When looking at the US BMW site I notice we also have quite a few accessories you don't have available. We have 3 diesel engines available, among them a real M diesel, called the M50d. Strange that the US market has such limited options considering it's actually built there.

My build sheet is in norwegian, so I'm not sure how much help that would be for you. If you want I can upload it. If you just want to verify the diesel M package and show it to your dealer you can have a look at the british BMW site, and the build options there (bmw.co.uk). I guess thats easier language wise. No M package with the diesel might be one of the strange BMW limitations for the US market, though.

To be honest I would much rather have your limitations and prices. As i mentioned road tax politics is insane in Norway so I'm guessing it will shock you to know i payed $190k (USD) for a 30d. I know you can get two fully loaded X5Ms for that price over there.
