Hi Guys,
I will be buying a 2011 or 2012 50i. I'm in between this 2 options, M-pack or normal sport. Is there any difference in performance? Which one will you take?

M Sport, no question. That has adaptive drive which is what you really want.

Only if the 2011 is the M Sport though. If the 2012 is the M Sport, Adaptive Drive was optional, not standard.

Regarding the 2, doesn't the Sport have Sport Suspension delete? I know there's a thread on this somewhere.

I'd personally get a 2012 to get the LED coronas.

Cosmetics are the only difference. I believe Adaptive drive became optional on the LCI models but don't quote me on that if it was standard on 2011 MY. I would personally get the M-sport it will look more timeless IMO and give you that even sportier look.

Adaptive Drive was standard on 2011 35i/50i M Sports. Otherwise it was optional for all LCI models.

The 2011 he posted definitely has adaptive drive (it has the button on the center console) and is infinitely more valuable than LED coronas.

(I realize you're probably saying he should hold out for a 2012 M Sport w/ the optional Adaptive Drive...)

He edited his post, I never saw the links.

Yes, AD > LED coronas. And yes, I'd hold out for both!

I put the links back. I don't want someone going ahead of me lol. I will do a test drive on both this weekend.

It is me or those sport pack wheels looks better than the m and why the m-pack doesn't come either with the running board. Not to mention the peddle shiftier in the steering wheel

I was thinking that too but I can't find a 2012 with AD and in the same price range, so I guess I will buy just the LED H8 lux around $200.

Wheel style is obviously a subjective choice. IMO both look good - I really like the style 336 wheels on the LCI 50i Sport models.

M Sport package has a completely different body kit, so no running boards.

Neither of these have steering wheel mounted paddle shifters - you'd need a 2012 with a build date of 11/11 or later to get those, but they would be included on both the Sport & M Sport models.

Maybe you need this vehicle now, but most of us here spend months searching for the exact X5 we want, in terms of color, packages, options, etc. And many members here have them shipped or fly out to drive them home. Just something to think about before you pull the trigger right away

So do you think this is a good deal, m-pack for that $$ with those miles.

I haven't been keeping track of prices lately but the price on the 2011 M Sport looks really good to me.

Do you know if the M-pack has head-up display as standard included? or it has to be add it on special options.
Thanks
