First Aid Kit and Safety Triangle

I was reading through the owner's manual of my 2012 X5 diesel and came to the section about the First Aid Kit and Safety Triangle. I do not have these.
Were these supposed to be standard (think I already know the answer) or dealer added with extra cost?
Just needed to ask as I cannot find any info that they were extra cost.
Thanks

You can get the safety triangle for the X5 at Amazon.com (search for VW safety triangle), I paid $23 and it fit in the driver/left side storage compartment in the X5 trunk, see pic below
