X5D Challenge (NJ to Chicago)

Not to hijack but I got the best mileage ever out of my 50i last weekend. 300 mile round trip to pick up daughter, nearly all highway. I had 20.9 showing on the DIC when I pulled in the driveway. I was well happy. Kept to around 70mph with a couple of lunatic blasts up to 120 to get a Dodge Durango R/T off my tail

We should be home tomorrow, taking a rest in PA today.

Just a brief update, I have averaged 27.3mpg over I guess about 2000 miles for the entire trip. 1500 of those miles were highway between 65 and 80mph. On the way back I was at 80mph through Ohio and Indiana. 500 miles was mostly spent in City driving and a trip to Wisconsin (Milwaukee) from Chicago.

Very impressed with this mileage given the circumstances. I left a lot of room for better mpg since I did not lower my speed to 60-65, I also had my whole family and a lot of luggage in the truck. I believe 29-30mpg would have been achievable under better conditions for maximizing mpg.
