COMMENTS

Munich. BMW M GmbH has launched a new variant of the BMW X6 M in a limited edition of 100 cars. The exclusive BMW X6 M Design Edition boasts particularly sporty and visually striking elements both inside and out. The upgraded interior of the BMW X6 M Design Edition comes with full Merino leather, including a bicolour instrument panel in Black/Mugello Red with Mugello Red contrast stitching. Another beguiling feature fitted exclusively in the BMW X6 M Design Edition is the BMW Individual interior trim in Piano Black with an edition-specific badge. From the outside, the BMW X6 M Design Edition stands apart with its 21-inch M Performance light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design and carbon elements. The exterior paintwork, meanwhile, can be specified in Alpine White, Sapphire Black or Melbourne Red metallic. It all comes together to create an elegantly sporty blend of colours – in a combination available exclusively in the 100 examples of the BMW X6 M Design Edition that will leave the factory.

Limited production..a sign of the beginning of the end for the x6 model run. Guess 2014 will be it

The X6M is not at the top of my list (or is any other SUV type vehicle) but I like these a lot. If I was loaded, I would have one of these for a family truckster.

demand not meeting supply = slap some stickers on it and call it special.

If the E92 M3 was any indication, BMW still be able to squeeze in 12 more limited editions between now and then.

Yep, the stripes a bit much, more like "look at me...me....me..."

The 50i I bought came with aftermarket red stripes, the kid who owned it before me did pretty good job. but after 1-week I said, nope the stripes got to go".
Not much discerning features inside either.

I agree, by summer 2015 the new X6 will come out, but hope Adrain Von Hoydonk, knows what the next trend is going to be. Got to tip my hat to Cris Bangle for the 1st gen E53 X5 and E71X6 (and to some extend the E65 7-series), definitely ahead of their times.

One more thing, I disagree as far as demand goes, IMHO demands for X6 is rather good and steady. So far in BMW models, this is the only model (that I know), which doesn't offer M-package that comes with M-style bumpers and side-skirts (in that M-package).
Alot of times, BMW release a new model, and hold out on M-Packages since demand usually high on new body style, then second or third year BMW usually offers M-package with discerning more agressive bumper styles (not quite the exact M-bumpers but you can tell) to lure in newer buyers; not in X6 case.

I used to really like X6's when they first came out buy I've gone off them now and really wonder who would throw lots of money away on this thing.

The colour scheme is pretty tasteless - it must be the same people who were let loose on the new X5. I'd feel like a joke driving around in it.

Maybe next gen will be exciting (the render on another thread here about next gen X6 looks good but it will definitely not look like that) but after X5 disappointment I won't be holding my breath.

This is a dealer loaner I am driving right now, 2014 328i, with red-stiching all over and red-brushed alum trims.
Why would M-car (supposedly)exclusive things end up in non-M 3-series
