Halo lights for x6 M

Picked up my x6 M three weeks ago, and put on 1300 km so far. Now i want to make some small mods such as the Halo lights. Any suggestion? Brand? I know there are old threads about this topic but i couldn't find it. Many thx if anyone can link me to it.

Cheers

Congrats on the car There are a few options out there, we carry the WeissLicht brand which is an LED based replacement that will upgrade the color to a xenon white.

Congrats on the X6M
Have a look at this - http://87.194.35.237/showthread.php?...hlight=umnitza
I would recommend Umnitza for the Angel eyes upgrade!

You can DIY, it's plug and play for most kits.

Heres 1 dilemma I have been having.

Would it be wiser to replace the angel eyes with an LED or H8 type light?

Ive heard the LED's arent as bright and they wont give error codes but what benefits would I get with using an LED vs replacing the stock bulb with a 6500k bulb from PIAA.

What is the best kit to use, there are about 4 different brands out there and some input on what the best one is would be nice. I just want a clean crisp white light but Im skeptical if I should go with LED or changing the lightbulbs that power the angel eyes.

Please help.

The tradeoff between a Hyperwhite H8 Bulb and an LED is color vs. output. The LED bulbs will offer the best color (pure white), the hyperwhite bulb will provide the best output however is closer to a 4300k color temperature depending on the brand you go with.

Oh thats just not fair! . Good for you man!

Is there a big difference in the HID with what you already have in the car as standard?

$300 for an HID kit is pretty pricey, a solid HID kit can be had in the $150 range. Don't go for the cheap $50 kits, you will spend more replacing it.

I have literally tried 4 or 5 different H8 type bulbs (from 5500K to 7500K), different brands, and they were ALL the same. It's hard to tell the difference. The problem with ALL of them is that when you turn on your headlamps (HIDs) the current draw turns the halos into a pathetic weak color intensity. Now, with the LED's, the 3 W ones that split into two, the intensity stays the same but they are really weak especially in daylight and with the sun out. They look good at night and when your low beams are on... just my 2 cents
