3 sets of wheels: stock 20" 300M wheels and tires with less than 1,000 miles, BBS SAV 20's with brand new Conti DWS non-runflat, 19" 298M with Pirelli Scorpion Winters.

It's currently on lease with BMW FS until 12/31/15 but I'd pay it off and sell. Not many around so tough to know what these are bringing

My '13 stickered for 106 with 9K miles, pristine condition, and got it in Austin for 74 + a good trade price.

What is your lease residual?

Thanks for the Mannheim data! Mine is definitely an "above" and is currently sitting at my home in SoCal; zero chance of selling it to a local Montanan.

Lease residual is $53.8K
Current Payoff is $70.6 but I have $8,750 in MSD so net payoff is $61.9K.

I thought about Swap a Lease but the large MSD would cause most people to balk; may be easier to payoff/sell outright. If I could get $71-72K with one set of wheels and then sell the other 2 sets I'd be a happy camper and order the Alpina for Euro Delivery

Your welcome.

Once you get to the selling point, I'd be very interested in your square set BBS SV wheels Please PM me.

Likely a buyer will want the stock 300M with runflats; the square BBS/Conti DWS are on the car now and are much, much nicer to drive on. I'll keep you in mind

I may run it by CarMax in SoCal when I'm there next.

Sure it is. Cars.com has a white one and it is at Monrovia. I've already been in discussion with their sales team and their used car manager. Now, unless they sold it in the last 15 hours (unlikely), then it should be there.

Ok. I just found out that the X5M I want to buy has had the engine replaced by BMW. They told me that after they bought the vehicle, they had the engine replaced due to an oil issue. The vehicle is still under factory warranty, but would you still buy it?

A good friend of mine got a chance to flog a X5M in spain at a private track, and bought one promptly when he got back home to Houston. I was pretty impressed by it. It out accelerates and out handles the Cayenne by a pretty wide margin. While not a nimble as the E90M3, it sticks just as well, and is quite a bit faster around town. Well, it is softer, rolls a bit more (but not a lot give 5300lbs), the steering is a bit vague, but so was the M3...BMW has lost the plot of steering feel these days, so I was not losing much. it's also the most luxurious vehicle I've owned, and with a JL Stealthbox, it's the best sounding as well (I had the same individual audio in the M3). Overall I am happy. Tows a 4500lb trailer very well too. I think it would probably out accelerate 95% of cars out there with a track car hanging behind it - at least surprise them. MPG is about 12 around town. 2 less than the E90M3.
Thanks for posting this feedback. I'm seriously considering moving from my E92 M3 to the X5 M but I'm on the fence. It's nice to hear others who have done what I'm thinking about doing and do not regret it.

I have both, M3 and X5M. Hard to imagine the truck replacing the M3 since you cannot compare. However, if you are willing to give up the raw-ish M3 hooligan manners and can accept a 6 speed automatic the X5M does not disappoint. It is also a hooligan, just a truck hooligan, faster than one might anticipate. Looked at GTS and Turbo also and the X5 is more spacious, which is good for ski or beach trips, or the track or the liquor store if you have a party. Get some spacers and it will look menacing from behind too! Lastly, and that is something that not everybody cares about, I love how aggressive it looks with the X6 front lights and hood line vs traditional X5 look. Gas mileage is horrible though.

Get the one with less miles. If BMW replaced the engine, I would not worry about it to be honest.
