idrive Harddisk + Poi's ==> Speedcams??

Getting our Bmw X6 MY 2010 this weekend. It took 4 months

Model year 2010 has the new idrive system with harddisk, i've heard that you can upload your own poi's (via the usb in the glovebox). Can someone confirm this? And file format, CSV (like garmin)? OV2(Tomtom)?

It would be nice to upload a speedcam poi-file.

I'd like to hear what you guys use for speedcams?

thanks!

Is that a user generated poi file, or does some company like garmin, tom tom, etc. produce a speedcam poi file?

You can download poi-files for garmin/tomtom/.... on several sites like for example:

That's cool. Too bad they don't have something like that for the US.

Thanks

question, Fileformat POI for USB load

Hi,
When I checked out the BMW routes i did a rout in Sweden, got a Zipfile back with two files inside. One picture and one XML file.
Ill attach it here and the guid of how to load a file from USB.
Unfortunatly I am not a hacker so I dont understand how this is used, but if the tripload from USB is an XML file, then the POI might be an XML file.
Is it someone that can try that out?

Bmw route is not the same as poi's, even if you edit the xml (you can open it with notepad and edit longitude & latitude), you can only edit the waypoints on the route.

i'll search for a way to convert a tomtom poi file to xml...

Hi phattbam,
did you also got the possibility to load POI from USB? My e87-10 does not give this option.
Just to know if I shall "claim" something from BMW.

The POIs I was having issues displaying were the ones already on the maps. they were not my own personalized ones.

Since last week I have a new X5 E70 and I have the same problem.
I want to add speedcams. I thought of importing POI's as described in the manual. But I can't find the option in the idrive menu?

Could anyone help to get the speedcams as POI on the HDD?

Much appreciated.
