It IS really easy to do. I used a simple paper clip ot pull the orange ones out. Put the inner loop of the paper clip under the front corner of the relector then pulled back and out. Replaced both in 3 mins.

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E71-X6_.../Side_Markers/ I bought a $99 set on ebay from the guy with free shipping, arrived in just a couple of days in a small flat-rate shipping box. part numbers: 63 14 7 187 088 63 14 7 187 087 Looking at the pieces, appears to me like you'd need to tug straight outwards on the REAR end of the reflector (the end with the metal clip) to get it out. Other people posting have used dental floss. Last edited by somonster; 05-07-2011 at 06:10 PM.. Reason: additional info |

I will post some pictures tomorrow. I am extremely busy. Here is a short video of me driving after I picked up my X. My mom was recording. Nothing special.

Cheers, thanks for posting. Goran is the greatest, got a wild card for Wimbledon and then he won. F1 guy Bernie Ecclestone placed a bet on him to win (showed him the ticked afterwards), like 200k and then got like a few million (and of course he needs it

here are some better directions:
1) push on the part of the reflector closest to the front of the car (press down and forward, towards front of car) 2) pull gently on the side closest to the rear of the car (as you press the front part down and forward, there should be a small portion of the rear part of the reflector you can grab with your finger) and grip such that there is a couple cm of space established between the bumper and reflector. 3) using a small, thin, flathead screwdriver, press on the metal peice of the reflector. This peice flexes back and fourth to secure the reflector in the bumper. If you have the euro replacement reflectors handy, its obvious where to direct the pressure to. 4) once the metal flexible peice is pressed, you can "peel" that side of the reflector off carefully, and remove the front part of it as well 5) repeat for other side I got my euro reflectors from ECS tuning, very fast shipping and the parts arrived very well packaged. Thumbs up to ECS tuning! http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E71-X6-...r_Side_Marker/ |

im not recommending using the screw driver to force the reflector off - I recommend using your fingers to do that. That allows a small amt of space to insert a small screw driver into and "poke" the metal prong that holds the reflector in the bumper. It will release with a slight amount of pressure, and the sharp end of the screw driver is behind the reflector anyways so min. chance of visible marking.

Another happy convert here! I had a little problem at first; just couldn't figure out how to remove the marker as easily as everyone described. The way that worked for me was to put the string around the front of the marker, and pull back and out, and then they popped right out. Working from the rear side was an effort in futility! This little mod looks great on my space gray X6! Thanks all for the source and the replacement help.
