*PRICE DROP* KW V3 Coilovers for X5M

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 1,400.00

Or Best Offer

Location:
✓ Will Ship

Item Interest
Selling KW variant 3 coilovers off of my X5M. The front left strut needs to be repaired/replaced as it was leaking fluid when the system was pulled off the car. The rest of the components are in proper working order and includes the EDC delete modules and rear lowering links.

*I'll entertain all reasonable offers*

Edit-- I noticed while cleaning everything that the bump stops on the front shocks have a slit on the side so it would be worth replacing these two. These are very inexpensive and an easy pull off/ pull on replacement. Think they sell these at any basic auto parts store.

After giving all of the components a thorough cleaning tonight, I took a few pictures... Box is included and in good condition, just not in the pictures.

While KW coilovers have a "lifetime," warranty, they are only for the original purchaser, and is not transferrable.

Additionally, only KW can repair their own coilovers. Unlike other brands, it seems they do not sell the wear parts to other suspension shops.

So that $1800 seems a bit steep IMO. Can you do any better?

I didn't have a spare suspension setup to replace with while having the front left repaired, so I ended up buying a new kit.

Agreed that the lifetime warranty only applies to the original owner, so buyer needs to understand this upfront. If $1800 seems too steep I suggest waiting on another KW coilover setup to pop up in the For Sale forum, no biggie. Please note this is for X5M's anyway which I'm not sure would fit your application.

So why don't you have KW cover the failed part on warranty and replace/ repair then sell the used kit complete with the new part?

Someone else got it right. The kit was used for 3-4 months by luislamweng, but he sold to me because he got rid of his X5M I believe.

If it's any consolation, I had bought some used Koni's from someone that were rusted and two of the four were leaking. I asked him to RMA it for me and have the return addy shipped to me.
So I ended up paying a little more for shipping twice, but in the end received 4 new Koni shocks. It added a few weeks of time to the transaction, but well worth the frustration.

Koni too is lifetime, only for the original purchaser, and you have to send a copy of your car reg, to make sure it matches the invoice and the specific application... PITA.

Perhaps work out the original owner helping you out, and you can then raise your price to well over $2k. ;-)

Yeah I definitely considered this. However, I didn't want to pay to install OEM suspension while in limbo only to pay for reinstalling coilovers again later. Add to that the shipping twice for the repairs, and the risk of not getting covered under warranty, it simply didn't make sense in my position.

New pics up in the original post!
