Stereo Volume Randomly Up or Down

Hi all

The volume of my stereo on my 2009 X6 randomly turns up or down quite noticeably and without any sort of pattern, it just happens as I'm driving along. It doesn't seem linked to speeding up or slowing down, it can just go really quiet all of a sudden. It will turn back up no problem but its as if the reception has been affected or something but the sound is the same just quieter.

One thing i noticed today was i passed by some phone lines when it turned down, perhaps a signal problem with the antenna?

Haven't tried it with CD's yet to see if it still does it, that's my next step.

Id say in the 8 weeks or so that i have owned it its happened about 5 or 6 times. It will be very difficult to reproduce for the monkeys at the garage so had hoped to point them in the right direction.

Anyone ever hear about this or have it happen to them on their BMW?

Thanks

Carl

In the sound settings, there is a option that automatically adjust the volume based on your driving speed.

ie.
Driving fast = louder due to road noise
Driving slow = quiet

I am not sure if you have this option turned on. I forgot what this option is called exactly, but you should be able to find it easily in settings.

Thanks for the comments but its not that, it doesn't change with speed, it can be quite loud then simply go very quiet in an instant and with no change to driving speed.

Try switching off TP in Radio settings, might help
