Hitch for X6M (Photos)
Here are some photos of the BMW hitch install on my 2013 X6M. Although this is on the underside of the bumper, it still has a pretty unfinished look to it. Note the wiring connector on the right which is fairly well exposed to the weather (road salt, etc). I do believe that the connector is where it is supposed to be (as their is a fitment to hold it in place), but this just looks somewhat unfinished to me (note also the exposed screw tabs). There is a "Metal Bumper Trim Piece" (Part #71600443105) which BMW lists for the X6M as part of the hitch accessories, but the dealer tells me it is not for my vehicle (they had originally ordered it along with the hitch kit).
I did manage to save the panel which was removed and I may modify (cut) it to fit around the hitch. Does anyone else have a hitch install on their X6M? Does it look the same? |
