Thumbs down 2013 X6M shipments on hold! (Monroney)

I just got an another update this morning that all 2013 X6M shipments are ***STILL*** under the "Maroney" (EPA/CARB) hold. It appears that, although they might still be building them, that none can be shipped until they are released from this hold. All BMW will say is that the hold is still in place and they are not providing any estimated timeline for the release.

So, if you are wondering why your X6M status has been stuck at "Released to the carrier for transport to the port of exit" for a couple of weeks now, this would be the reason. (It actually hasn't been released to anybody...)

Several of us already have 2013 X6M's which have completed production are are now sitting in Spartanburg waiting for this release. I have not been following the X5M's and do not know if a similar hold applies. Folks have indicated that the X6-50's and 35's are being delivered though...

I have seen that you are waiting also!

MAYBE - the more of us that poke our dealers about this - the more visibility we can get to see it resolved as quickly as possible...

I just got information back from BMWNA that they don't expect the X6M's to clear the Monroney holds until May 14th or LATER!

What kind of crap planning is this!

This sucks!

My dealer seems to be clueless, he keeps sending me updates daily saying that it should be delivered any day now and it is overdue

If its an "M" - then he is clueless... Maybe he doesn't want to ask the question because he's afraid of the answer he will get.

Other folks have said that the 35's and 50's are being delivered though...

Is you'rs an M? If the status says its completed and awaiting shipment, then that would make 4 of us I know of who have cars sitting completed and not being shipped. (Me, Luca, Wang, and You) Are you one of the lucky few?

I'm curious of how many of us have X6M's completed and waiting...

It looks like the X6M Monroney delay has gotten some additional attention at BMWNA...

I got a couple of unsolicited phone calls from BMWNA this morning and the word is, that although the EPA/CARB paperwork for the X6M was submitted on April 10th, they are trying to find out why it is taking so long to get approval. I was told that although the paperwork received timely internal approval from govt executives, the associated documents never actually got moving. The gentleman who called me said he would call me back on Monday with an update on the process. (He is reportedly talking directly with the engineer at BMWNA who is responsible for the approval process).

It was also specifically suggested that I could share this info on "any message boards" if so desired... (Its particularly worth noting that I made absolutely no mention to any boards or forums on my own).

BMWNA just called me again. They said the documents have been signed and the hold should now be released. "The cars should start moving right away".

YAY!

Not sure if its related

We just took delivery of our 2013 X6 3.5i M perf.pack, and it was missing 3 parts of the performance package (M doorsills, Black exhaust and black fog light surrounds) - Either something went wrong on the line, or the supply chain.

Not sure if it's related.

I hope you get your wheels soon!

Sorry to hear that. Mine is done today and I hope they didn't miss the parts.

I already contacted BMWNA about M Perf. Pkg and was told "We appreciate the feedback our valued customers provide to us. Please be assured, we work on a continual basis to improve our services and your comments will be reviewed and utilized internally."

Mine is an "M", I spoke to the GM at the dealership this morning, he confirmed the hold and was told they are working with the government agency to try and resolve. He also said he has a customer with X5M and it is also waiting for inspection to be released.

Congrats to you! Post pics, once you take delivery. If you got the new LED lights can you post a pic of them too? Thanks!
