I thought I'd share MPG on my ///M
After a year of owning X6M i wanted to explore some "non-M" aspect of driving it
Yesterday night, while cruising with wife and two sleeping kids in the car i desided to "play" MPG game The result was rather surprizing on this same route we take every now and then I also tested some NYC traffic a few days before Following was achieved using AT in manual mode Can someone beat this on any X6? 95% of the miles I drive are in City traffic.. I am hovering around 10-11 mpg... fml. However, I am about 3k miles under what I should be for my lease... so I got that going for me I guess?

Same here, a lot of mixed driving. A great deal of stop and go city driving during rush hour and highway driving in jersey and stuff. I got 2k miles until I hit 15k/year I just got this thing like 7 months ago lol

In NYC, anything above 10mpg is good, regardless of the car
You are mostly either stopped at the traffic light or crawling in traffic There isn't much driving ... Even my 335i barely got 13-14mpg in Brooklyn |

New X6M owner from UK( Land of silly Gas Price)
Hi All
Just ditched M3 after just six weeks! Major oil leaks from start spoilt what should have been good fun,on going oil consumption of around 1ltr per 400 miles after 1200 service put me off. Lag on DCT when parking impossible to live with as well. So got the beast, just concerned that will need to join main board of OPEC to run it . Daily commute 100 miles 90 % motorway, would be happy with anything that starts with a 2 in it. Any experience/hope of my expectations being close. Or this will bite the dust to I am aware a 2 ton plus beast with a 550bhp engine was not going to be a Prius! Your comments please. |

The only way you can get 20+mpg (US) is driving on fairly flat road with speeds under 65mph
20 miles per imperial gallons should not be a problem for you, even with spirited driving P.S. Oil consuption is not an issue on this car 1 quart in 7K miles or so |

UK New M6M owner
Thanks for the advise, did a 50 mile run today got combined of 19 mpg, with less than a hundred miles on the clock, that will improve as it is run in.
Its just not as much fun as the M3 (Obvious statement!), in the UK the ROADS are small and the X6 tends to fill them! So spirted driving would result in a prison sentence. Just may have f****d up with this one. Back to drawing board. I think will give it some more time before I chop it in. Thanks |
