My BMW X6 35i w/M Performance upgrades

Good evening gents. Finally finished part 2 of my upgrade to my 2010 BMW X6 35i and thought I'd share a few pics. I know the majority of folks here seem to be of the X6M and X6 5.0 variety and all but I wanted to represent for the lesser v6 owners out there and show some of the possibilities available to them too. Yes mods are farther in between and fewer but with a little lQQking and perseverance you can find a few lil things!

My mods/upgrades to individualize my X6 include:
- Eissenman Race Performance (full) exhaust
- Dinan Stage 1 & Stage 2 Performance ECU Update
- AFE PreOiled Filter
- Schneiderman Black/Gray Stainless Steel Pedal Set
- Escort 9500xi Radar Hardwire installation
- ECS X6 Clear Side Marker Set
- Matte Black Front grille Set
- BMW Class III Trailer Hitch Installation
- Stoptek Cross Drilled Brake Rotor Set
- Ceramic Performance Street Brake Pad Set
- Stainless Steel Brake line kit (back-ordered)
- BMW M Performance Aerokit Front Bumper
- BMW M Performance Aerokit Rear Wing (Matte Black)
- Phillips LED Daytime Running Light installation
- Ipod/Idrive Retrofit

So far I am plesantly pleased with the vehicle and also thanks to the guys at BMW of Austin and IND who helped with sourcing my parts and getting it all put together correctly and right the 1st time! I even forgive you guys for the broken tail light! LOL Enjoy and any thoughts or recommendations for upgrades as I shop for wheels to complete the look are/would be appreciated. Rob

Thanks. So far brakes are good and strong, less brake dust, no noise. However need to do the stainless steel lines and flush with Racing Fluid (Amber) in order to get the full effect I think. But it IS less expensive than a Bembo Big Brake kit by good amount especially since I am not hauling her down from triple digit speeds on the regular like on the Autobahn. Now if I was stationed/lived in Germany I'd definitely go that route...but then again if that was the case I'd have gotten an X6M most likely also.

Sound is greater and more throaty and sporty at startup and not much of a drone when driven in sports mode. Compared to the OEM 5.0 or C63 you won't get that V8 sounds I am afraid so definitely go that route (bigger engine) if you want that sounds. Otherwise definitely made the car but I would go with larger 105mm round twin tips again if I did it over. GL

No the fogs were removed and the dealer re-coded the car to acknowledge that there were no fogs present much like the x6M's are. So no faults at all when I had the car.

I like your M conversion. Does anyone know if the 2013 LED active headlights on the x5m/x6m compatible with 2010-2012 x5m along with the new grills that come on the 2013 x5m/x6m?

there are a lot of ppl on here who want to do the same thing. it can be done right now but it would pricey as hell and need to be a custom job to get all the wiring and coding to work right. the rumor is a conversion kit will be released at some point by bmw... i'm still waiting lol

I figured it defiantly would be pricey, but thats awesome to hear that there may be a conversion kit in the works. I also noticed they changed the center grills and was pricing some out at my local bmw dealer but they said they didn't know for sure if it would fit and if I ordered them I couldn't return the item if it didn't. So i figured I ask here is anyone knew about that as well......

Awesome, is this a 3.5 liter? If yes, did the exhaust fit without cutting the plastic inserts?

Did you have any problems with the fog lights sensors when you replaced your bumper to the M bumper?

The v8 sound is totally different animal than the v6. Definitely louder and much more bass.

Lights were controlled and wired into the OEM harness. That way they were stock in fit/function. Dealer did the install and thus coded the fogs so there would not be a fault as the car looked for them. These particular Phillips DRL's are set to dim at night and brighten during the day accordingly.

No they had to cut the plastic outlets from the bumper to make room for the exhaust. However Eisennmann does provide a template to use for both the larger oval and quad tips. I no longer have this vehicle but IF I did I would go with oval tips again in hindsight. Much better look.
