This is a link to the drawing which might help you.

I wanted to replace mine because some of the hinges were broken (they are on the inside - don't look because I broke another one when I looked) . I was advised of this by the Service Assistance. Apparently I had placed something heavy on it. If I did it would have been a suitcase once or twice. Why else would you have the sill if you can't actually use it. Owners beware. Do not sit or put anything heavy on the sill! This part is actually not fit for purpose.

I got a few scratches due to boxes I slid in and out having rocks and dirt under it. To protect it now, I had the guy who did my front clear bra use the same clear bra material and wrap that part so now if anything, the clear bra will get scratched.

I didn't fix it, mainly because I got quoted $450 by the dealer to replace it. I figure it still worked so I thought I would leave it until it actually needed replacement.

I'll just have to make sure nothing remotely heavy touches it!

spray it with plasti dip! it hides things well but the only the thing I found after doing that is it causes more friction when closing the lower portion because the plasti dip has a slightly rubbery property. Give it a shot. If you don't like it, just peel it off =)

Can't beat a can at Homedepot for $5.98

I wonder if you spray the glossifier over it, if it will make it smoother. I haven't been able to find the glossifier locally so I haven't done it yet. But one thing is for sure, it hid all the scratches well.
