Just bought the abs sheet 1/4". Hopefully I'm pretty free this weekend to work on the side splitters.

Sneaky, I am currently working on rear diffusers and then will be working on side splitters. I got a huge sheet of fpr plastic to make my templates from and wrapping it in carbon cloth and resin. Just wanted to ask if you mind me adding to your thread (instead of creating an all new thread, people can use this as a 1 stop diy for this mod) and detailing my process just to have a large diy option for people. First rear diffuser almost done and im starting on the other tonight. P.S. thanks for the motivation to get back into working with cf again!!!! lol.

Ok, so here goes my contribution to this DIY thread. To begin you will need to do the math/measuring for the surface you will be working with. My measurements were for sideskirt splitters and rear canards. This required a half gallon of epoxy resin (clear/uv inhibitive/exterior usable). Next is the cloth amount I chose 3 orders of the link below coming out to 108"x50" of 2x2 twill 5.7 oz. cloth.

http://cjcompositestechnology.com/ep...evlar-half-gal

http://cjcompositestechnology.com/ca...iber-fabric-50

Next is your material to make your template from, I chose the item in the below link due to not having a lot of options in my area and it was inexpensive (this is shower wall material, lol I used it because it is thin frp plastic).

http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?...llow&cId=PDIO1

Next up will be using what sneaky has already written up to make a cardboard template and tracing two of them out on the frp plastic you acquired from lowes. Once this is done break out the Dremel with the cutting wheel, safety glasses and a mask (the cheap ones they use in nail salons will work, my fiancée had some so I used hers because this is fiberglass plastic so you do not want to breath in the dust).

Once this is done scuff the surface of the cutout template on both sides with about 600 grit sandpaper (this will help the cf skinning resin adhere to the surface). Next up you want to mix the resin based on the mixing ratio noted on the resin bottles (only mix small amounts here so your not wasting skinning resin). Once it is mixed prep the surface by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol and let dry, then brush the resin onto one side of the template and let it cure to a tack (before or during the curing time cut a piece of cf fabric out the is big enough to wrap both sides of your template and set it aside). Once it is tacky lay your cloth onto the template leaving enough cloth laying off the template (you'll be wrapping the cloth around to the other side once the first side cures). Once it is cured, usually over night flip your template and repeat the previous step. The cloth will have a hard time laying down so you may want to have a rigid surface larger than the template so you can place it on top with some weight added to it to hold the cloth onto the resin until it cures over night.

Supplies for above work:

http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products...MCFBCR1KG.aspx

Foam brushes from dollar store

Acetone to clean brushes

Rubber gloves
Anchor brand measuring glass from Walmart about a shot glass size to measure out the resin

Disposable plastic cups to pour measured out resin and hardener into for mixing
Paint rollers to roll the cloth onto the template after placed

There's a package coming your way via UPS...

Plus, if somebody is interested I made a 2nd set that's for sale. $100 picked up. $125 shipped.

PS - use an 11/64" drill bit for the mounting holes in your bumper. Oh, and no washers are needed (not sure why I put them in the photo).

I bought it from emco plastics in Cedar Grove, NJ pretty close to my house. I I just searched abs plastic near my location and you should get a website called Thomas net and it listed emco plastics as the closest it was pretty expensive though about 110 for a 4'x8' slab. But still a lot cheaper than buying the splitters so it's well worth. Any other questions feel free to ask.

In my opinion, you should paint the mounting hardware black. Also, the fins are a little too inward for me... but it still looks great!
Hey bro, I remembered you wanted a set of the diffuser fins and I made an extra pair. I just need to finish wrapping them, but their yours if you want. $100 picked up. PM me to setup a time.

Can't wait to make mine! just waiting on the templates. my last final is tomorrow!
I found a place to get the vinyl for cheaper:
http://www.metrorestyling.com/3M-Sco...m1080-cf12.htm
Its the same seller as the one on amazon but it is directly through their website. they have 10% off and free shipping on orders of $99 or more.

I'm actually gonna use neffy wrap fabric(neffywraps.com) and 3m super 77 adhesive(amazon) spray as it looks more like cf and a plus was that it was alittle cheaper. just ordered them now time to wait lol.
Also found website that had cheaper door molding trim here: http://www.vinylgraphics.net/product...-by-Trim-Gard/
