HP peak gains (X5m Custom Tune)
Hi up, guys!!!
It's been a long time since i don't post here!!! Nice 2 see u all again. I have a question for u all. As most of you know, i have a little issue living in Spain and tryin to mod my truck. My local tuner has managed to get a real gain on my car (almost 90hp at mid range) but the peak gain is only 32hp at red line.... I'm goin to put some graphics here, but meanwhile, i'd like to know your feedback. Is it normal? Is the air flow the problem? I have SS full exhaust line besides catless DP's + K&N drop in air filters. Standard HP's (Euro specs): 555 Stock HP's (with the mods except for the ecu tune): 595 Final HP's: 627 (tune included) Soon i'll try to post a video running without the rear exhaust!!!! (Absolutely insane.....) Thanks a lot in advice!!! |

The problem is somewhat airflow related.
The small turbochargers BMW uses delivers very quick spool-up but will never flow enough cfms to get the top end gains you are looking for. Same story from the guys tuning the N54 (my experience)

Yup exactly what the dude above me said...you'll gain lots of low end torque and a bit of hp up top.
