I did it. Why was I waiting.

Just got a 2011 X5M. 62K miles. Silver with camel interior. Picked it up in Birmingham and drove it home 600 miles to Dallas. Wow, this thing is a beast. It devours on ramps. I pulled of the highway a couple times just to get back on. Still learning where every is and what it's capable of but already in love. I also have a 1M. I'll need to wait a few weeks for the newness to wear off but I might just prefer the X5M. Not as nimble, and certainly feels it weight, but there is something neanderthal about rumbling around town in a big SUV with this much power and capability. Albeit a neanderthal in a tux. The 1M is more like a bike courier in NY.

The truck is actually for my wife. But I think she will rarely find it in the driveway.

Nicely done, that's an awesome pair to have. Your interior color is most likely "Cinnamon", unless you've got some crazy Individual build.

Post pics!

Thanks. It's not cinnamon. I know that. I test drove one with cinn and that is much more burnt orange. My interior is beige. Not sure what the official BMW color is. Maybe camel isn't accurate. Nothing against cinn. My wife is a Texas grad and liked it very much. Was actually looking for a black interior. This beige will take a little more TLC.

Camel isn't a crazy individual option haha I've got it in my X5. I as actually looking for a black interior but then this one came up and it looked great.
Anyway you'll have a lot of fun with X5M, it really is one hell of a car. Never driven a 1M but looks like a lot of fun. Need to see some pics brother

Pics coming. Just finished washing X5M and 1M is next. Then I'll post.

Quick detail question. Looks like the previous own NEVER cleaned the chrome exhaust tips. For a moment I thought they came flat black from the factory. Lots of chrome cleaner and I'm close. But the remaining black crap is so backed on it won't budge. Any ideas on how to remove this. See before and after.

I use a Mother's Powerball and some compound to clean mine up. Works great with the drill.

Don't jinx it. These tips were so caked and baked. Hopefully it was just neglect. But I have an extended warranty that would cover an injector replacement. Almost wish it would happen so I could sleep better.

Got a 2010 X5M from a Cali BMW dealer in Oct and my tips looked the same. My dealer here checked her out and am go2go and no injector issues. So hopefully yours is the same as mine...previous owner forgot the word D-E-T-A-I-L! Cleaned them with brasso and chrome polish and got them much like yours. Ultimately thou...aftermarket exhaust was resourced and is being installed now. Eissenman 90mm quad tips do look great on an X5M!

Congrats on your purchase. If you get a tune then you'll really wake up the beast!

A tune is on my short list. But going to wait until I get to know the truck a little better.

Want to hear something crazy. The wife asked if she could get new wheels. I put some BBS on her Tahoe and she loved them. She said it made it easier to spot her truck in a sea of Black Tahoe's. So first will come some wheels. I thought it was going to take some serious convincing to get wheels. She just made it a no-brainer.

Congrats mate! Let's see some pics of more than just the exhaust pipes

Did you happen to see the X5M for sale in Austin? I've been tempted to go and have a look at it...
