So finally did the swap and it was so simple everything bolted right up and required no rework of any rotors or resizing of the rear opening like some have said, which I think are just the e70M rotors that need resizing.

It's 100% bolt on.

F85 X5M rotors $1600
X5M calipers eBay $500
Stainless brake lines $125

Tip of the hat to deftronix who gave me the right info a bit ago about the rotors not needing to be resized So finally did the swap and it was so simple everything bolted right up and required no rework of any rotors or resizing of the rear opening like some have said, which I think are just the e70M rotors that need resizing.

Awesome deal! Truck looks great!

I wish I could ask how different the SS brake lines feel but you got a whole new setup so probably very different lol. What pads and lines did you go with?

thanks man! Overall better than the stuff it replaced that's for sure,
Since this is my wife's car and I'm not tracking it I went with just your run of the mill Wagner thermos quiets. Cheap and cheerful and stops the car. I'd love to have gone with a special low dust compound but those go north of 300 plus.

The SS lines where from ECS tuning. They where nicely made.

I may upgrade later but for now the cheap pads fit the bill. .

Amazing! Do you think these will clear OEM 20s as well?

Those good great!

Almost a necessity when you go w/ 22's - the stock brakes look way too small.

I'm Sure they do as their stock brakes and that's the e70 X5M caliper so any stock X5M wheel would, not sure about the others but could just do a test fit.

Haha, sorry, your typing...So I agree any X5M wheel should be okay, but what is it you're saying about stock brake?

Well their technically stock brakes right . Just the vin says differently.

Since their Not aftermarket I'm sure any 20" stock M wheel would work. Not sure of the non M wheels.

Sorry typing on the phone

Thanks, the calipers look amazing, and you got a great deal. I'm not sure if I'm willing to go through with this myself. I already own an M car, and my OE rotors were also around $1500 for the front set. I can't see myself paying the M tax on a non M car just for M brakes. The stock X5 front rotors were only like $500 for comparison. lol.

Yea this was more just for looks as I hate when you have huge rims and small brakes, also effects braking with the extra rotational mass. For the most part I collect parts over the year and then one day i binge and mod the shit out of it. The calipers I got off eBay for 500 the running boards new for 399 the wheel arches new for 199 and the rotors front and rear for 1600..... painted the calipers myself so that was free, just taking my time and trying to score good deals when I can. eBay has some crazy deals at times. As car-part.com does from time to time as well.

Just because it's not an M doesn't mean it's not worthy of the pretty stuff.

Hell my Mini Cooper has 3k dollar brembo GT kit on it, looks killer and stops it on a dime

Honestly I'm amazed their so good for the cost!

It was around $645 off eBay for all 4 shipped to my door.

Drove to Michigan from Chicago and back through real bad rain and they have performed fantastic.

No tram lining no noise, nice and quiet.

Best tire for the money hands down.

Yes their lion hart.

Its a eBay company called CAR SHOEZ They run discounts from time and caught them during the discount, the normal price is around $275 for the fronts and $450 for the rears, so $725 total shipped.
Fronts are 335/R25/22 rear where 295/R30/22

Still a hell of a price for the size of tire.

Yes their very quiet.

Rotor swap issue

I recently swapped my rotors on my '13 X5M, and I am getting a clicking noise when applying the brakes. This only occurs on the front rotors only. The noise doesn't occur when I'm not braking. Has anyone had this issue?

You mentioned resizing of a rotor, based on information you got from deftronix. Can you give me more information on that.

So are those the F85 caliper and pads? When I ordered the rotors, I noticed that the calipers and pads are slightly different from the E70 setup.

Thanks.
john

Your setup looks great.

Thanks man!!!

Actually deftronix told me about not having to resize the rear rotor like on the e70 X5M rear rotors, so it's actually easier to swap the F85 rotors. I was told from a few people
That the e70 X5M rear rotor had a different size hub that needed to be enlarged to fit a non M.

It was just speculative because since the e70 and f15 and f85 use similar underpinnings that the same rear hub may have been used..... turned out not to be the case.

I'm using the e70 X5M calipers and pads with the F85 rotors
