Carbon Wrapped trim?
Has anyone wrapped their trim on the X6 / X5? I am debating picking up an X6 5.0 but it has the light wood which I am not a fan of. I figured a good compromise would be to wrap it in vinyl.
Thanks.

Haven't done, but I think it would look good, as long as the cf pattern isn't too coarse. I like the pattern on the Z4 M but the M6 pattern is too coarse.

I would leave the vinyl exposed as in the Z4M you used as an example. I would also leave the aluminum accents bellow the trim.

I liked the m6 carbon when I had it and the z4m carbon in that pic looks particularly sweet to my eyes - but a carbon effect vinyl sounds like something that could end up looking seriously crappy as it won't have the visual depth of the real deal.

Around the shifter looks ok, in the other pic I think it's that there is too much of it. A little a trim like the shifter has might be ok. |

I lived with it for over 2 years and it never felt ott, but then again the picture doesn't really give a feel for context as the m6 has a big cabin up front and the carbon wasn't plastered everywhere like in some cars. I've attached a pic of what mine looked like inside, also attached a pic that gives a better idea of the weave and why vinyl won't deliver the depth that makes it so special.
