When you say poor, what the before and after mileage?

You will loose a bit of mileage due to higher rolling resistance on snow tires (they are softer afterall).
But if you loose alot maybe your overall rolling diameter is off going from 20 to 19, I assume your tire sidewall ratio is off.

Agreed - if the diameter is off, the speedometer will be off and that could cause the mileage difference (it wouldn't be real, only calculated). In addition, don't forget about the reformulated winter gas which also makes mileage take a dump too!

The diameter isn't off - they are the proper size. It's just the soft winter tire compound. A lot more rolling resistance than stock tires. They were mine, and my new winter set up in a stock size is getting me the same mileage.
