After about 15 years of owning VW/Audi vehicles, I've switched over to the dark side...

Just picked up this 2013 X5 50i, with 31.5k miles on it. CPO'd thru 5/2019.
M-Sport/M-Perf
Adaptive Drive
Active Steer
Cold Weather Pkg
Premium Plus Pkg
HUD

nice trade up. Ever have to get a timing belt on the S4? I read the 4.2s in the S4's had timing belts and then they fell of my list of cars I would buy.

They had timing chains, not belts on the 4.2, and because of space constraints it was at the back of the motor. The chain itself it usually rock solid, but the guides and tensioners are made cheap, and if they go, causing your chain to skip, well....Boom. No way to service the chain and guides without pulling the motor.
Mine never had it done, by I was relatively low miles (90k) for a 13 yr old car.
Going to miss her, honestly feels faster and more responsive to throttle inputs than the X5 but we are comparing apples to watermelons, manual trans to automatic, normally aspirated to turbocharged.

I got pretty lucky and jumped on it quick. The dealer was asking a lot, and there was a snafu with tires nearly being at the minimum to pass CPO, but was took a chance and was able to bargain the dealer down considerably. Previous owner also must have put on a black grille, bonus!

They are kind of hard to find I gather. The black sapphire is growing on me too, I really wanted carbon black or alpine white, but it was impossible to find with every feature I was looking for.....

I ended up with a white 50i msport. Ive never been a big fan of white but it grew on me. Black int was non neg for me. I was in a bit of time crunch and the only 50i msport with perf had white interior. My dogs would ruin white leather in a week. Previously had space gray and it was my jam

I have to admit, I was so intent on getting the truck that I did not notice that she was debadged until I got home!! LOL....Kinda embarrassing since my usual OCD notices that stuff immediately.
